The mission of the Florida Asian American Justice Alliance (FAAJA) is to promote social justice and equality while further developing the economic, cultural, political, and civic engagement of Florida's Asian community.
Our Work
Here is a list of our major achievements since FAAJA was born. We organized protests, participated in hearings, and issued press releases to shed light on the discriminatory bills. We united six major cities across Florida in a statewide rally, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to combat discrimination and injustice. We have also reached out to reputable national law firms and nonprofit organizations to garner support for a lawsuit, initiated by CALDA (Chinese American Legal Defense Alliance), that aims to overturn this discriminatory law. CALDA, with the ACLU and other national legal organizations, filed lawsuit and preliminary injunction with the court, and they are scheduled for a hearing in July.

2023-07-18 Rally
On July 18, several major civil rights organizations, members of the Asian American community, and Florida leaders are coming together to voice their opposition to SB 264, a law banning many Chinese immigrants from buying a home in large swaths of Florida. This demonstration will consist of a multiracial, multi-state coalition of concerned citizens, some of whom will be traveling in “freedom buses” to Tallahassee the morning of the hearing to support the civil rights of all US citizens and residents.
This rally will take place outside of the U.S. District Court of Northern Florida during the argument Shen v. Simpson, a lawsuit challenging this discriminatory law. The judge will consider the plaintiffs’ request for a preliminary injunction to immediately block the law and declare it unconstitutional. A press conference with the legal team and community leaders will follow.

We are fighting for women's equality, and to mark the occasion we're teaming up Team Maxwell Frost, Team Carlos G. Smith, the Orange County Democratic Party and more to host a Day of Action in House District 35!HD35 will be hosting a special election early next year and we have a monumental opportunity to flip this seat That's why this day of action will center on going door-to-door to talk to community members about getting abortion on the ballot, and we'll be asking fellow Floridians to update their Vote-By-Mail ballot request!

2023-08-26 Woman's Equality Day of Action
FAAJA joined over a hundred Asian Americans who attended the 60th March on Washington rally on 8/26. Thousands of multiracial attendees gathered with a dedication to fight against injustice and racial inequality, a cause that Dr. Martin Luther King once dreamed of 60 years ago. "I have a dream! I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."
